Statement of Confidentiality in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation of May 2018.
Any personal information I collect is limited to your first name and your contact details, such as email address and mobile number.
These details are deleted when our therapy is ended.
All information is treated with the utmost confidentiality. I have regular supervision as a condition of my professional membership of the NCPS. Names are not used in any discussions, to protect your identity.
In certain circumstances I may be required by law to divulge my notes to a third party, for instance when subpoenaed by a court.
I do not keep notes about our work together on any electronic devices, and the paper-based notes I make are kept in a locked, secured filing cabinet. These notes are kept for the duration of our Therapy together and then shredded, unless required by an EAP or agency based company to keep them longer. Again these notes have no identifying details apart from a first name and brief, concise details about our sessions, such as the focus of the session and any homework we have agreed on.
You will need to sign a ‘GDPR, and Terms and Conditions agreement on the first session, alongside a counselling contract.
